Our Main Campus and West Campus have security guards on duty 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. All Medical Center employees, health care providers, contractors, volunteers, and students wear photo ID badges for your safety. We use video recording in some public areas and in some patient care areas, such as The Birth Place. Smoke-Free Policy To protect the health and safety of our patients, employees, and visitors, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center campuses are smoke-free environments. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not allowed inside buildings or within 50 feet of any entrance. Fire and Emergency Drills We practice fire and emergency drills regularly. If a drill happens while you are in the Medical Center, don’t worry. Stay in your room and wait for instructions from our staff. What Not to Bring For safety reasons, please don’t bring these items into the Medical Center: Weapons of any kind Any items that need to be plugged in (there is a hairdryer in each patient room) Aerosol products (like spray cans) and open flames (it’s not safe to have these products near oxygen equipment) Alcohol or street drugs Personal Property Patients are responsible for securing any personal items or belongings of value with the Medical Center's Department of Security for storage in the facility's safe. Any items they kept at your bedside will be your responsibility. The Medical Center will not accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen if not secured in the facility’s safe. Privacy We are dedicated to protecting our patients’ privacy. If you don’t want to have visitors, or if you don’t want us to share any information about your condition, tell the admissions or nursing staff. Additional restrictions for your safety and the safety of others: For your safety and the safety of others, please be aware of the following. Please be respectful of others and refrain from threatening behavior or language that creates a risk or threat to patients, visitors or staff. Video, audio recording and photography of medical interactions, our staff or other patients is not allowed. Overnight stays in waiting rooms are not permitted (waiting rooms are for use by persons who are seeking care, conducting business transactions or visiting a patient) Additional safety restrictions for visitors: Please do not visit patients if you are sick. Patients need time for rest and healing: Visiting hours and number of visitors may need to be limited at the discretion of the care team. Please keep noise (voices, cell phones, etc.) to a minimum volume. Please observe any restrictions posted at the patient’s door. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times
